Hours of Operation

Calico Jack's Ferry opens daily at 7:30 a.m. and will close no later than 6 p.m. The first ferry will depart Calico Jack's at 8:15 a.m.

Ferry Departure Schedule

Between April 1 and December 15, the ferry boats depart from the Cape Lookout Ferry Terminal on Harkers Island at quarter past (:15) and quarter 'til (:45) the hour.

Note: There are no scheduled departures between December 16 and March 31. If you want to visit the Cape Lookout Lighthouse or Shackleford Banks during the off-season, please call for reservations.

Ferry Pickup Schedule

Before your departure, the staff will ask you to schedule your return trip.  Calico Jack's Ferry picks up on top of the hour at the Cape Lookout Lighthouse until 5:00 p.m. Passengers returning from alternate drop off points will typically be picked up immediately before the scheduled lighthouse pickup.

Service Availability

Your safety is our Business! Calico Jack's Ferry reserves the right to cancel service due to weather conditions that could be hazardous to passengers and/or vessel safety. Mechanical or equipment problems may also cause cancellation of scheduled trips.
